Privacy Notice

When you scan a product, we record the barcode, time, whether a product was found, and coarse network-derived location such as country. With your separate analytics permission, we may also record region, city, a pseudonymous session identifier, coupon views, and redemption activity. When you join the coupon list, we collect your first and last name, email address, optional mobile number, preferred delivery method, requested message frequency, consent record, and subscription status. Partners provide business contact, product, campaign, and coupon information.

We use necessary information to operate scanning, provide requested coupons, prevent abuse, secure accounts, and measure service reliability. If you opt in to analytics, we use behavioural and coarse-location information to understand product interest, improve recommendations, measure campaigns, and create aggregated market insights. Marketing email requires a separate opt-in.

You can use basic scanning without agreeing to marketing analytics. Coupon access may require a verified email so we can protect offers and prevent fraud. You choose whether messages arrive by email, text, or both, and whether they arrive weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. You may withdraw optional analytics or marketing consent at any time. Each commercial email includes an unsubscribe method.

We share campaign-level aggregated results with participating advertisers. We do not sell your email address. Service providers may process data for hosting, authentication, email delivery, security, and analytics under contract. Raw event data is retained only as long as needed for the stated purposes; aggregated statistics may be retained longer.

We use access controls, encryption in transit, multifactor authentication for administrators, logging, and restricted administrative privileges. You may request access, correction, deletion, or information about our practices by contacting privacy@scaneh.ca.
